• Frequently Asked Questions

How many photos do you take?

With my sessions there is no set time limit and no set number of images. On average, a children’s session will last about 45 minutes to an hour, a newborn session can last up to three hours, and a high school senior session will last two to three hours. It really just depends on what we are trying to capture. I will go until I am absolutely sure we have captured exactly what we want, or until the kiddo reaches his or her breaking point.

Can I do in-studio and outdoor in one session?

Yes, you can. However, keep in mind, depending on the age of your child, that can be asking a lot. My rule of thumb is always, "The kid runs the show." We will know when they are done! It does not do any good to push them past their limits. If we do, then you are just getting, "I am cooperating because you are making me" images.

  • When do you schedule outdoor sessions?

Outdoor sessions are best towards the end of the day. Depending on the time of year, I will look up the sunset time and then schedule a couple of hours before then. This is the best time of the day. You will not be squinting into the sunlight and it reduces the look of dark circles or bags under your eyes.

Can I get a CD of all my images with a copyright release?

I believe strongly in the quality of my images. I want your portraits to not only be of the highest quality possible, but to last you a lifetime. Therefore, I do not release the copyright to my images. This way, I can ensure they are being printed on archival paper and meet the extremely high standards that I set for color and quality from my lab. You may purchase a CD or DVD of your slide show, but you will not be able to print any images from it. It will be for enjoyment on your computer or DVD player only.

  • Is there an additional charge if Mommy wants to jump in the session?

I am extremely flexible. If Mom wants to jump in a few, or Dad, or even if you want to include the family, I am okay with it, as long as we have discussed it beforehand, and we feel confident that the kiddo will be able to handle that addition to their session. There is no extra charge for people or outfit changes.
